About the Artists

Currently, a student of the arts, Mack Smith, attends Converse University where she studies Studio Art focusing primarily on Graphic Design. Illustration, and Ceramics. She is a member of the Artists Collective of Spartanburg, where she works on social media and admin committees. Her work has been featured in the likes of the Tulip Tree of Downtown Spartanburg, The Artists Collective Spartanburg, The Upstairs Artspace of Tryon NC, and Milliken Gallery at Converse University. As she continues to move forward with her degree, she hopes to focus on graphic design and branding work.

"Art is a way for me to express my emotions and thoughts about my relationships with others, nature, life and death, the universe, and current events. I pull from personal experiences to create colorful artworks that use strong symbols and emotions. Working mostly in digital and illustration mediums, I'm able to convey emotions through color and subject matter. Human connection, especially romantic connection, plays a large role in my work. As I currently am attending university, my art is ever-changing and evolving as I widen my skill set. Learning graphic design and illustration principles is largely changing my art as I learn to move into the commercial world of art. My current project Home focuses on creating comic-like illustrations based on personal poems I have written. The work explores love, loss, and heartbreak.”
